Financial Services Firm Client Center

8 Connaught Road Central, Hong Kong

Involved from Aug 2019 - Oct 2019 (Completed 2020)

1,720 sqm (18,500 sf)

Industry: Financial Services

For: Gensler, NY & Gensler, HK

In this client center, our team wanted to celebrate the rich history, colors and textures of Hong Kong. Hong Kong is major financial hub and trading port where east meets west. People, cultures, trade and industry come together to create a vibrant landscape steeped in layers, textures, sights and smells. Chinese roots and history, mixed with British colonial influence has further increased the diversity of the city, making it so that at every turn you take here, there is something unexpected and different to discover.

This project was a collaboration between the New York and Hong Kong teams at Gensler. The Hong Kong team designed the layout of the space and produced tender documents. In New York, I selected finishes and furniture for the lead designer to review. I also ordered, tracked and shipped multiple palettes for the client and design teams in both cities. Additionally, I used my bilingual skills to coordinate renderings for design presentations and furniture shipment between New York and Hong Kong.

Team: Li-Pei Schweder (Design Director), Dagmara Gutorski (Designer), Stephanie Cheung (Architectural Assistant)

Process, Finishes & Furniture

I selected finishes and furniture for the lead designer to review. I coordinated a “chair fair”, and mapped out locations where the client would visit showrooms to make final furniture decisions. I also ordered, tracked and shipped multiple palettes for the client and design teams in Hong Kong and New York. The finishes and furniture that I helped select is uploaded in the gallery below.

I assisted with rendering coordination and redlining, the renderings were created by the Gensler Hong Kong team.
