Tube Prints, Sold Out!

I am sold out of my drawings of the tube. I created these drawings for my Media Studies course at the Royal College of Art. I decided to sell them to other transportation fans. I posted about them on my personal and illustration instagram accounts, as well as on the facebook group, “NUMTOTs” (New Urbanist Memes for Transit Oriented Teens"). It warms my heart that strangers all over world wanted to buy them - can you believe that these little prints are currently travelling to different parts of the US, Canada, The Netherlands, Australia, Japan, Germany, Hong Kong, and of course, the other parts of the UK. This is my first time selling my work, as a product. I am proud that it was profitable and commercially successful. It feels affirming to know that people want to buy my work. I am genuinely touched, and really surprised.

I celebrated by taking my tube drawings, on the tube, on a Friday night. A TFL member of staff said, “why did you draw the tube?”, and I answered, “I am a student, and I love trains!”. Thinking back, I wish I said something way cooler….
