Gensler x Groundswell

May 2017 - August 2017

Pro Bono Project of Various Media & Sizes

Project completed in collaboration with Marina Santos, Veronica Bedoya, Billy Blaha, Al Fajardo and Luke Palmadesso.

Gensler’s internship program includes Summer Studio, a design studio in which the internship class works together on a summer long pro bono project. The internship class was broken into four groups of six, with each group designing a different pop up installation to commemorate the opening of Groundswell’s 500th mural. I managed the time and budget of the project and also created the concept and labels for our group.

We celebrated Groundwells’ history by documenting 100 of the organization’s past murals. We designed a label featuring a mural along with its title, artists, year completed and location in New York City. Labels were placed on paint cans to symbolize the origins of these paintings.

On opening day, seeds, plants and soil were provided for the artists and community members to plant inside the designed paint cans to further embody and symbolize the organization’s ethos of planting seeds of change through art.

I was the project leader and lead designer. I led the group to create award winning project featured in Architectural Digest Magazine (Project featured in Architectural Digest Online Article “These Designs Have Made the World a Much Better Place” (Hannah Huber).
