#CreativeComplements | small.family on Madame Architect

Link to Post

Madame Architect’s section, #CreativeComplements is a weekly post of creations by architects, creations that have nothing to do with buildings (at least not yet), and everything to do with great ideas. My small.family illustrations were selected to be part of this series.

www.small.family is a vibrant community of hand-drawn architectural scaled figures. it is a direct response to renderings (and the people that inhabit them) being too often viewed, curated and created through a white male gaze.

2020 has been trying! Drawing has been so grounding and meditative for me. I turn to this passion project to combat the feeling of indefinite uncertainty. It is fun to hone my hand drawing skills, take the time to legitimize my side gig and spend time drawing people instead of construction documents. please use these scalies in your projects! these are drawings of my friends, people that reach out to me and people I see on the street. This is an ongoing project and a growing illustrated community
